The concept of measurement characterizes society since its origin. The quantities of weight, length, time, force have always been quantified in order to define transactions,  trace boundary lines, for construction, taxation, celebration, etc. Whether we like it or not, every aspect of our lives is measured, and we often don’t wonder if those measurements are correct.

The Calibration Laboratory METLAB srl sets itself to support companies on issues related to measurements, calibration of measurement instruments, their monitoring, management and choice.

For calibration services, METLAB srl has 5 metrological rooms at disposal at its Pradamano (UD) headquarters as well as one at its operative branch in Vicopisano (PI). Here, instrumentation and reference samples, traced to national and international standards from Accreditation Laboratories from Accreditation Bodies in accordance with ILAC MRA international agreements are used.

METLAB srl also owns a mobile laboratory, which, in specific cases and where high measurement accuracy is not needed, allows us to carry out calibration procedures at a customer’s site. The correct execution of calibration procedures without accreditation is guaranteed by technical instructions developed in conformity with main national and international regulations, and the operational experience of our technical staff.

The Laboratory is Accredited by ACCREDIA according to the UNI CEI EN ISO/IEC 17025:2018 standard –  “General requirements for the competence of testing and calibration laboratories”, as an Accredited Calibration Center LAT n.280 for the temperature quantity.

The devices (sectors) for which the Laboratory can currently issue an Accredited Calibration Certificate are Thermocouples, Resistance Thermometers and Thermometric Chains, in the range from -40 to 1100 °C and with measurement uncertainties within the metrological capabilities (CMC) specified in the LAT Center Accreditation Table.

For metrological activities carried out outside the scope of Accreditation, METLAB also adopts a Quality Management System certified according to the UNI EN ISO 9001:2015 standard by TUV Italia, in IAF Sector 34 – “Supplying of the control service, calibration and inspection of measuring equipment and instruments using standardized methods”.

The “Measurement” is the foundation for the control of every activity! Whichever it concerns some industrial production or a research center, by now the cost of measuring represents more than 10% of the Gross Domestic Product of a developed country.

Our laboratory operates across the board in many sectors, but is mostly rooted in the metallurgic one. In the recent years, it has significantly expanded into the medical and research sectors.

Over the years, METLAB has developed a number of prestigious collaborations with certification bodies and producers of measurement and testing devices.

Since 2008, our laboratory is Dedicated Society of TUV Italy, the Italian division of the well known certification organization TUV SUD, for which we provide calibration services.

Collaborations have also been established with the German brand STAHLWILLE (quality tightening utensils for the industry, aeronautics and automotive sectors), with the Italian SEITRON (combustion gas analyzers and home automation) , and recently with DEDALO (training services and management consulting) and MCQ (compact gas mixing devices ideal for the biotech field and any company which uses gas mixtures).
